Benefits of taking rich protein and fatty food recipes in Sehri during Summer Ramadan

Summer Sehri During Ramadan Kareem, Muslims abstain from drinking or eating anything orally from dawn to the evening prayer. The fasting period keeps on changing depending upon the time in the year when this month starts. During winter the fasting period is about 8-10 hours at maximum. Less desire of water and this short time period coupled with long nights to take rest make the winter fasts easier than the rest. During spring and autumn, the fasting period is about 10-12 hours, making fast still less challenging. But, the long, hot, dry and sweating fasts of summer are really a great big challenge. The fasting period varies between 14-17 hours with short nights to prepare for the next one.

In this scenario, the diet and nutrition during Ramadan, plays a great big role in making it easier and really beneficial for the fast observers. You have lesser time to prepare the Sehri and have to make it a sufficient one for such long period of time. Foods that produce filling effect in the stomach for longer period of time, expanding the hunger toleration span are the ideal ones for summer Ramdan. Usually, saturated carbohydrates and proteins take most long to get digested and stay in the stomach and gut for most of the time.

So, half-fried eggs, or omelet with a good amount of onion, cabbage, tomato and green chili serve best as sauce. Coupling them with the twisted loafs having saturated fats filled in the twists and then fried in the fats as well (Ghee or Bal Wale Parathe), can keep you easy for about 10 hours. Eating a couple of dates will help fight starving and heart burn. Similarly, meat, milk and other protein and carbohydrate rich foods will also help.

How to have easy fasting in Ramadan?

No doubt, Allah Almighty blesses every fast observer with special patience and self-control power to complete the fasting process. Still, some new Muslims, health sensitive people and hard working employees find it difficult to observe fast normally for longer period of time. Following are the some common problems that such fast observes usually face and the time tested tips to make them have easy fasting during Ramadan.

1- Some people start feeling heart burn two to three hours ago Iftar time. Mostly, they have problem with the digestive system or have quite big bodies to feed. Observations have revealed that eating two to three dates at the Sehri time reduces this problem to a considerable extent.

2- Almost every fast observer just starts drinking water madly after Iftar because the thirst is almost out of control. This creates health problems and dullness. Making a date-shake in the Iftar and drinking a couple of glasses satisfies this thirst to a considerable extent.

3- Those who are engaged in rigorous mental or physical activity throughout the day also start feeling intense starving in the last hours. Just make sure that you are always in ablution and after every hour or so recite the Holy Durud for about 5-10 minutes, closing your eyes and resting your head in a comfortable position. Durud, when recited with too much attention, decreases the blood pressure and sets breathing to a very light, smooth rhythm. This reduces the calorie break-down, resulting in lesser loss of energy; keeping you energetic and fresh for longer period of time.

Ramadan Kareem comes with lots of gifts and blessings. But, sometimes, it really becomes difficult for some people to fulfill all the requirements of fasting in their toleration limits. Above tips may help in making things easier and happy.

New Samsung galaxy tab

It seems like Samsung has taken the ipad2 launch seriously resulting in the release of two new Samsung tablets; the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 with a gap of just few weeks. The new tabs are impressively thinner (measuring just .33-inches thick) with a lot of specs. They will be first ones using Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) OS.  The models aren’t final but according to Samsung the 10.1 will weigh 1.31 pounds and the 8.9 just 1.03 pounds.

Internally there will be 1GHz dual-core processors with a 6000mAH battery and  16GB of storage for  8.9 and 6860mAH cell and both 16GB and 32GB storage for 10.1 (with both having micro SD slot). Both are said to provide 10 hours of video playback. Both include the same array of cameras which includes a 3 megapixel shooter with an LED flash on the back and a 2 megapixel lens on the front.

It was said that Samsung was planning to start adding its own software on top of Honeycomb, but TouchWiz UX actually adds a bit to the Honeycomb experience. Although there is a Honeycomb App launcher available, there is an additional Mini Apps Tray which hides on the bottom of the screen and helps in quick launch of apps. No one is sure why there is a need for such an additional launcher.

The multitasking abilities have been improved by TouchWiz with LivePanel which continuously refresh real time content and rich widgets delivering instant and relevant information.  Five different screens can be viewed at the same time with the help of Multiscreen Scrolling with a 5GB RAM; further  improving Multitasking abilities of the tabs.
These tabs match the features of other Android tabs with a built-in GPS, support for Adobe Flash in the browser (you still have to download it on your own), 1290 x 800 screen resolutions, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi etc.

The hardware includes all the latest sensing devices like Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor plus a compass. With the four-way motion sensors, the Samsung Galaxy Tab responds faster and more accurately.

The new Samsung tablets are far superior in design and specs to the already available tabs. The Tab 10.1 is now the thinnest tablet in the market with a better battery life and trim dimensions.

Meaning of Ramadan Kareem

The month of Ramadan has been regarded as the leader of the rest of the months of Islamic calendar (Authentic Hadith). The month derives its name from the root ‘Ramdh” having several meaning, all of whom just go in line with the spiritual benefits and the functionality of this month. The list is as follows:

1) “Ramdh”, according to the scholars means ‘burning agent’. The connotative meanings derived by them say that this is the month that burns out all of the sinful deeds of the Muslims, if they fast obeying all rules ad fulfilling all demands. This is one of the most authentic meanings of Ramadan Kareem. Take the definition of the Wikipedia writer for further clarification:

“The word Ramadan is derived from an Arabic root rm, as in words like "ramia" or "ar-rama" denoting intense heat,[2] scorched ground and shortness of rations”.

2) The Arabic counterpart of fast is “Saum” that means ‘abstaining from something’ or ‘keeping quite’. This implies that one who observes fast has to abstain from everything that might be a source of Allah’s anger and unhappiness. Moreover, he who observes fast keeps himself so busy in Ibadah that he hardly finds time to talk to anybody. Hence we can see that the meaning of Suam just extends and explains the meaning of Ramadan Kareem. As the Prophet Mohammad (SAW) said:

"Whoever does not give-up forged speech and evil actions, Allah Is not in need of his leaving hi food and drink”(Al-Bukhari).
